Do I need experience or is there a minimum level of fitness required?
Absolutely not. Our workouts and exercises can be scaled and modified to accommodate any and all skill levels. We train everyone from elite level athletes to individuals that haven’t hit a gym in 20-plus years.
How do I start?
Contact us at info@crossfittemplar.com to set up a time to come visit us or just stop in during one of our classes. We would love to meet you. If you like what you see (or have heard), we will get you scheduled immediately for our trial week.
What is a WOD?
WOD stands for Workout Of the Day. Each night prior, the WOD will be posted on the CrossFit Templar website and you can choose to either look to see what you’ll be doing or go into the class “surprised.”
What is a typical class like?
The first 15-20 minutes are dedicated to stretching, mobility and an instructor designed warm-up to get your muscles loose and to practice CrossFit skills. Once that’s done, we then go over the WOD and discuss standards of movements and clarify any questions that one might have. You will then hear your coach say “3…2…1…GO” and then the WOD begins. Typically the WODs last anywhere from 5-25 minutes depending on how fast and hard you push yourself. After the WOD is complete, we clean up the gym and then you’re free to leave or stay and practice skills. It is highly encouraged that EVERYONE stay to cheer on others as they finish the WOD.
Do you offer discounted membership to active military, police officers or firefighters?
Yes we do. We offer a 10% discount on Individual memberships and 5% discount on Couple’s memberships to all active military, combat veterans, police officers and fire fighters as long as you have an id card or badge.
Do you have showers?
We do not, but our personality makes up for that!
Can I just come to CrossFit Templar and work out on my own?
No. As you will find out, we are not your typical gym. We offer classes where people work out under trainer supervision because it yields better, safer, and faster results than having people simply use the facility by themselves.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact Gretchen directly. We look forward to hearing from you!
