CLEAN & JERK
Learn how to do a proper Clean & Jerk to efficiently lift the most weight, have the most fun and limit exposure to injury. The teaching sequence is based off a similar, top down approach as we studied for the Snatch. The course covers the detail to include, stable receiving position, bar trajectory, center of gravity, rapid turnover and fast, precise movement. The jerk portion focuses on the correct position, using the bar to your advantage and using the large leg and torso muscles to lift the bar up and the arms to move the body under.
Understand the concepts and detail to do a correct Back Squat. Proper positioning is stressed to focus primarily on the legs and make this a more valuable exercise for the Snatch and Clean & Jerk.
JERK ASSISTANCE EXERCISES
There are a series of exercises devoted to performing proper Jerks. Learn to use the spring/snap of the bar to your advantage. Proper balance and positioning are taught to make this a strong part of your armentarium.
