At CrossFit Templar it is important to us that our new members start out on the right foot, so we developed an 8 session “On Ramp” program to get you ready for our regular CrossFit classes. Here are some highlights of our beginner program.
Movements & Strategies: At every session we’ll introduce 3-4 primary CrossFit movements. We’ll also show how to modify or scale these movements to suit your skill level. For instance, if you can’t do Pull Ups, we’ll show you how to do band-assisted Pull Ups or other techniques that will eventually help you build the strength to do Pull Ups. At the end of every session, we’ll put you through a workout where you can practice the movements you just learned and you’ll also practice strategies on how to scale workouts in order to get the most out of CrossFit.
Class Structure: We understand that CrossFit can be intimidating and overwhelming for many people, so we take extra steps in order to put our newcomers at ease. We limit the On Ramp classes to 5 athletes, so every athlete gets the proper amount of attention. Movements are taught in a simple methodical manner, so that anyone can learn them. Every class starts with a warm up where we’ll review movements from previous classes, so you’ll see the movements more than once. All classes are taught by a Level 1 certified CrossFit coach.
Membership: There are not any additional fees associated with the On Ramp program. All you need to purchase is a 10 session punch card or a 2 to 3 times/week membership. Once the On Ramp program is complete, you can adjust your membership to meet your workout requirements.
Class Times: The On Ramp classes are typically scheduled on Monday and Wednesday evenings at 7 pm and on the weekends–times will vary. If this schedule does not work for you, let us know and we may be able to accommodate your schedule.
